FORMAT
     
    Encyclopædia is published in successive fascicles (sections), as is usual with detailed, specialized encyclopedias. Each fascicle contains 112 double-column pages in large format (quarto). Volume I contains nine fascicles, while Volumes II through V each contain eight. Beginning with Volume VI, each bound volume contains six fascicles.The volumes are specially case-bound in fine cloth with gilt lettering. Each entry consists of a separate article or series of articles written by one or  more noted authorities, complete with text references and a comprehensive bibliography of the subject. The entries are arranged in alphabetical  order.
